A Film Engagement Photoshoot in Paris: Alexis & Marcus at the Museum

When Alexis and Marcus reached out about celebrating their engagement in Paris, they knew they wanted something more than the classic Eiffel Tower session. As two art and fashion lovers visiting from Arizona, they wanted a photoshoot that reflected their personality: intentional, stylish, and unique. That’s why we chose a Parisian museum as the backdrop for their Paris film engagement photoshoot. The quiet halls, the dramatic architecture, and the way light fell across the galleries gave their session a cinematic, editorial feel that was worlds apart from a traditional engagement session.

What I loved most about photographing Alexis and Marcus was how much their shoot felt like them. They weren’t looking for cookie-cutter romance; they were looking for art. By choosing a museum, incorporating stunning vintage pieces, and embracing film photography, their session felt unique.

KIND WORDS

From Alexis & Marcus

Hi Bonnie!

I just want to let you know that I still CONSTANTLY receive compliments on these pictures!!! And my response is always that I wish you were in Arizona so you can take more of our pictures. lol

"Working with Bonnie was better than a dream come true. My fiancé and I had our first trip to Paris planned and we knew the City of Love would be the most romantic place to finally capture our love & engagement. Since I am not from Paris, I had to do a little bit of research to find a photographer and it wasn’t long before I came across Bonnie’s page. I fell in love with her work instantly. I immediately followed her on Instagram and reached out right away. From the moment I reached out to Bonnie, she was so sweet and easy to communicate with to work out the details of our shoot. Even after rambling to Bonnie about the vibe I was going for and sending her tons of inspo pics, what she delivered was better than anything I originally imagined. So yes… working with Bonnie was better than a dream come true. Shooting with her felt so comfortable, natural, and fun! She guided me and my fiancé the entire time without ever feeling like it was forced. And after seeing all the pictures she took, I was amazed by how beautifully she captured our love. She is an efficient and talented photographer that I would be happy to work with over and over again. I have received an abundance of admiration from people online who were gushing over how good our engagement photos turned out. Each picture Bonnie took is like its own little memory that I will cherish forever. Our pictures feel timeless, romantic, elegant, and magical. I am eternally grateful for our experience with Bonnie and the results speak for themselves. I can’t wait for another trip to Paris just to hopefully work with Bonnie again! MERCI!"

Seriously if we ever find ourselves in Paris again, we would LOVE to shoot with you! :)

I truly hope as many people as possible get to experience your talent. I can’t rave about you enough every time I get a compliment on our photos!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Bonnie!

FILM PHOTOGRAPHY MAKES YOU SLOW DOWN AND SAVOR

Why Film Photography for Paris Engagement Sessions?

Alexis and Marcus specifically asked for film because, as they put it, they wanted “something that felt deliberate.” Film has an intentionality that digital can’t always replicate. With film:

  • Every frame matters → there’s no endless clicking, just curated moments.
  • The tones are timeless → skin looks softer, colors feel richer, shadows more romantic.
  • The experience slows down → it feels less like posing, more like being present together.

That’s what makes film photography in Paris such a powerful choice for couples who want their engagement photos to feel both classic and fashion-forward. They also knew they would rather have a few unique shots that felt like magic, and they loved the spontaneity and surprise of film photography.

Why book film photography for your Paris engagement or Paris photoshoot?

If you’re planning an engagement session in Paris and wondering whether to add film, here’s the truth:

Film isn’t about getting “more photos.” It’s about getting better photos — images with depth, mood, and timelessness that only analog photography creates. In between the limited exposures on each camera roll, not knowing each exactly how it will turn out, and leaning Into being hyper present in the moment. This is what creates the magic of film photography - not the filters or presets edited like film, but the approach of film photography that creates extraordinary art. For couples who love art, fashion, or simply want their engagement session to feel elevated, film is the difference between a gallery that feels beautiful and one that feels unforgettable.

Alexis and Marcus’s museum session shows what’s possible when you approach your Paris engagement shoot with intentionality. If you’re dreaming of a cinematic, fashion-inspired engagement session in Paris, one that feels unique to you, film is the perfect way to capture it.
