Editorial wedding photography in Paris on film photography and digital
"We saw a side of ourselves we had never seen before."
— Maki & Alex
That's what editorial wedding photography in Paris is really about. Not stiff poses in front of monuments. Not the same angles every photographer shoots from. It's about creating images that are intentional, art-directed, and cinematic, while still feeling completely, undeniably you.
Maki and Alex wanted to feel natural in front of the camera. What they may not have expected was how editorial and natural aren't opposites: when the direction is right, they're the same thing. Editorial wedding photography doesn't mean stiff. It means intentional. Every frame considered, every location chosen with purpose, every moment given space to breathe.
The result? Images that share a version they had genuinely never seen of themselves.
What makes Paris the perfect setting for editorial bridal photography
Paris is one of the few cities in the world where the architecture, light, and atmosphere do half the editorial work for you. The Haussmann boulevards, the sculptural gardens of the Musée Rodin, the Eiffel Tower framed between stone buildings, these aren't just backdrops. They're collaborators.
For Maki and Alex, we moved through the 7th arrondissement in front of the Eiffel Tower, with that in mind, finding frames within frames, using the topiary and gravel paths of the Rodin gardens to create depth and structure, letting the city's geometry do what no studio could replicate. The image of Maki alone on the Haussmann intersection, veil caught mid-air, the Tour Eiffel ghosted into the background. exists because Paris allows that kind of editorial spontaneity.
Why I shoot editorial wedding photography on film and digital
Film photography gives editorial wedding photography its texture and restraint. It forces a slower, more deliberate approach, one that translates directly into how couples carry themselves in front of the camera. There's no machine-gun shooting, no "let's just take a hundred and see." Every frame is composed with intention. Digital works alongside it to capture the unscripted. Alex breaking into a run across the lawn, the laugh that comes between moments. Together, film and digital produce an editorial body of work that is both crafted and alive. That combination is central to how I approach every Paris editorial wedding frame. That way, you get the best of both worlds.

Paris editorial wedding photography isn't about looking perfect... it's about looking like the best version of your own story.
Who this style of Paris editorial wedding photography is for
Couples who I work well and feel inspired my work usually tell me:
- They're comfortable being guided but don't want to feel directed into something inauthentic
- They're planning a wedding or celebration in Paris, but they don't want the postcard version of Paris, but rather a version that is more lived in and felt
- They care deeply about art and detail... in their wedding, their home, their life
- They want images that could sit in a magazine, but feel entirely personal
Maki and Alex's big celebration comes next year. These pre-wedding Paris images are their prologue: a quiet, editorial morning in Paris that belonged entirely to them. Considered. Cinematic. Theirs.
